Wetlands Water Testing, Journaling and Zumba!

Reminder: Tomorrow is our last day of the YMCA StrongKids School. We will be swimming from 10:45-11:15. Please pack your child's swimsuits and towels in a separate plastic bag so that the wet items will not damage their visual sketch books or get their backpacks all wet afterwards. We will be returning to Royal Oak School by 12:30 p.m. and will be back in time for early dismissal at 12:50 p.m.

Today we explored the Prince's Island Wetlands. We journaled using our 4 senses: See, Smell, Hear and Feel. It was a beautiful day for it. We got some wonderful pictures of the skyline.

We were Water Quality Scientist's and we tested the Prince's Island Wetland and the Bow River water for Turbidity (Cloudiness), Temperature, pH levels and Dissolved Oxygen Levels. We also looked for critters in the water.

Ask me what group I was in and what part I was testing for?

ZUMBA!

In the afternoon we also got to participate in a kids Zumba Class. Ask me what my favorite dance was and why?

In our last journalling of the day we reflected on all the things that we had seen that made us think that Eau Claire is a COMMUNITY. Ask me what things I saw that convinced me that Eau Claire is a community of Calgary.

On the bus we also journaled as we came close to our Community of Royal Oak. Ask me what was different? What was the same?
