Reminder: Tomorrow is our Wetlands Assembly so dress appropriately for a walk in the wetlands! Tomorrow is also Hats On for Mental Health. Please wear your favorite hat to support awareness of this important issue.
Please look through the list of club descriptions below for our upcoming CIRCLE FRIDAYS. Please choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice so that you can tell your teacher this information tomorrow.

Descriptions:
Drawing Is Fun!
or Learn To Draw!
Students will begin by practicing the basic
techniques of sketching including; pencil grip, shape recognition, using an
artist's wrist, smudging and perspective. Students will have the opportunity
to sketch people, animals and scenery. Through a variety of different mediums
including pencils, charcoal, smudgers, students will work towards creating a
cumulative project on special paper that they will be able to take home.

Puzzle Club
Students
will have the opportunity to exercise their brains by constructing and
creating puzzles! This club will have floor puzzles, table puzzles and even
number puzzles! Students will also be encouraged to bring their own puzzles!

Naturalization
Club
We will be working with student leaders to learn
about the naturalization project for Royal Oak. Students will learn about the
naturalization project, help formulate some possible designs and learn about
why/how an outdoor space will benefit all of Royal Oak School. Students will
be asked to share their learning with their classes periodically in order to
support involving the whole school in this project. We would like to have
representation ( 1 - 2 students from each class) in our club.

Building!
BUILDING!!!
Welcome to KNEX Building challenges! We will build vehicles, which we will
race! We will build structures to see how high they can free stand! We will
build things that twirl, and twist and we will learn to build in teams and in
partnerships to complete a task! Team skills and purposeful activities for
all! Ms. Plaxin Rm 51

Dance Club
This club is for Grade 2/3 students who love to move
to the music! Students will explore moving their bodies in different ways,
learning a variety of dance styles and creating their own movements to music
as well.

3D Printer Design Club (2&3
ONLY)
Learn
how to design 3D objects using Tinker-cad. Your 3D design will be printed on
the 3D printer.

Scrapbooking A
Memory
What is Scrapbooking? Scrapbooking is a way to
document a memory by using photos, journaling and embellishments in an artist
layout. Students will have an opportunity to use different mediums (such as
chalking, ink stamping, embossing and water colour pencil crayons) while
documenting a personal adventure or moment in their lives. Students will
explore how to arrange photos with embellishments/bling on a 12X12 two-page
spread. Students will be invited to bring in 10-15 personal photos for this
project.

Wetland Exploration
In
this session, students will discover why wetlands are important to the
environment and will have a couple opportunities to visit the wetlands.

School
Leadership
We will be taking on a leadership role in the
school. Thinking of ways as a team to build school spirit and student involvement
in assemblies, spirit days and activities. We may also look at opportunities
to raise money and improve Royal Oak School. If you are a leader and love to
influence others in a positive way, this is the club for you!

Yoga
Come
in comfortable clothes, ready to relax, stretch, and balance as you follow
along with yoga stories.

Karaoke Club
If you enjoy popular music and like to sing you
should join this club! Karaoke is a Japanese form of entertainment where you
take turns singing along with recorded music.

Sport’s Club (2& 3 ONLY)
Students
will participate in various sports! Let’s get active!

Drama Club
In drama club we will be reading a story and based
on that story we will be making a play. We will be using our big voices
and body movements to act out our story and develop characters. If you have a
big voice and lots of imagination, come and join the drama club.
