Music Monday, Terrific Wilbur and Lobster Traps!

Reminder: BOOK ORDERS DUE THIS FRIDAY MAY 5th. Please do not send Cash payments, only cheque or pay online.

Reminder: Tomorrow the Grade 2's will be walking to PRATT to watch the student's perform Alice in Wonderland. We will be leaving the school by 10:00 am and returning around 12:20 p.m. We are so excited to be watching the middle school students perform. Ask me what a respectful audience should look and sound like?

Wednesday is our Wetland Assembly so please wear your Royal Oak hoodies, shirts or Royal Blue if you have it. It is also Hats On for Mental Health. Please wear your favorite hat on Wednesday to promote awareness of this important topic.

Today was MUSIC MONDAY! It was wonderful to listen and watch all of the student's at Royal Oak perform. The song we performed at the end as a whole school was beautiful.

Charlottes Web: Chapter 13 Good Progress: Readers Response:

If you didn't get a chance to listen to Chapter 13 please enjoy it now:

Social Studies Inquiry

Today we broke into two groups. One group painted Lighthouses like Peggy's Cove. We used sketching and paint and blending to create a visual representation of a East Coast lighthouse.
The other group built popsicle stick LOBSTER TRAPS. These are modeled after the old fashioned wooden lobster traps that many fishermen (Acadian included) would have used to trap lobster. We also made mini pipe cleaner lobster. Tomorrow we will add netting to our lobster traps.

Math

Today in math we looked at some different shapes. We had to draw them, label their sides and label them with their correct names. Ask me which shape I enjoyed drawing the most and which one was the most difficult for me.
