Tomorrow we will draw and answer these comprehension questions:

We went outside today for an outside classroom! We listened to Charlottes web on the grass and then enjoyed some tag games. As the weather gets warmer gym and break and sometimes even class time will be spent outdoors. It is so nice to learn in the sunshine!

Science

Today we learned about an insects body parts. These 5 body parts are important.

All insects have three main body regions: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen.
  • The Head. The main visible parts on the head are the large compound eyes, the antenna (feelers), and the mouthparts. ...
  • The Thorax. The thorax is the middle region of the body, and it bears the legs and wings--if wings are present. ...
  • The Abdomen.

They can also have antennae, legs, wings and compound eyes, depending on the type of insect that they are:

They aslo have an exoskeleton: This means that their skeleton is on the outside of their bodies.

The students were then challenged with creating their own insect. It could have a superpower and something in its body that would serve a purpose such as helping it survive better or helping the environment in some way. Tomorrow we will get to work in groups to come up with a SUPERBUG that will have the best parts of all of our creations. Ask me what I created?
