Painting Bees and Balanced Equations!

Science/Art

Today we looked at pictures of the colours and designs on a honeybee.

We painted our bee with a first coat of yellow.  Over the weekend they will dry so that we can add our final details (antenna and wings) next week!

Next week we are so excited to be having a honeybee expert come in and talk to us about the importance on bees and what we can do to help them thrive.

Math

In math the student's have been working on building balanced equations. We have been learning that we can do the same operation (adding) or different operations (adding or subtraction or multiplying and dividing) but for it to be a balanced equation the number must equal the same on both sides.

We worked in groups to then come up with our own balanced equations. Some of us presented our equations in front of the class and had to prove that our equations were balanced. Ask me to show you a balanced equation at home.
