Today a notice went home about the Royal Oak BBQ. Please read it and submit your child's orders online.

Science

Today we had a honeybee expert in to talk about bees. We learned so many things. She taught us why honeybees are important, what their jobs are, what kinds of bees do what kind of jobs and many more interesting facts about bees. Ask me what I remember.

We drew a diagram of a honeybee and all of its important parts:

We also started a page in our visual sketchbooks to document as many facts as we could remember from the presentation today. Ask me what facts I learned about honeybees?

One fact that we found so funny was that honeybees will do a waggle dance in order to tell other bees where there is a good pollen source.

Art

Today we painted the black stripes on our paper mache honeybees. We painted the head black and added some black details for the hair on their legs. On Thursday we will get to attach a pair of antennas, a pair of forewings and a pair of hindwings.

Insect Research

Today was our last day for researching our insect and creating our Google Slides presentation. Next week we will begin presenting these and working on eye contact, smooth and clear speech at a good volume for an audience.
