Science

Today we learned about propulsion:

Propulsion means to push forward or drive an object forward .

There are different types of force that cause propulsion. We watched a video about four kinds of boats. Many of us tried to use balloons or sails last design time. Next week we will be redesigning our boats or making new ones.

We also talked about all of the things we had learned in the last two weeks about buoyancy, waterproofing, stability, density, cargo and propulsion and if our boat needs to be updated in other ways next week we will get our chance to do so.

Talk to your child about their new design ideas.

If they need particular materials such as balloons, pop bottles, styrofoam please send in with them by Monday May 13th so we can begin building.

We will provide tape, hot glue, popsicle sticks, wax paper, tinfoil, cotton, plastic cups, elastic bands etc...
