Royal Oak School Pancake Breakfast!

We are excited that the Calgary Stampede Downtown Attractions Breakfast Committee will be hosting a FREE Stampede Pancake Breakfast for our entire school community on Friday, May 25th. This event will begin at 7:30am and pancakes will be served until approximately 8:30 am. Families are encouraged to come early to enjoy this free event and stay to socialize until approximately 9:00 am.

Families are invited to bring a blanket or camping chair to sit on as they enjoy a breakfast picnic on the compound and/or hill area. In the event of rain, families will be invited inside the gym.

All families are encouraged to wear their best western attire to show their Stampede spirit!

Literacy
Asking Questions When I Read
This week we will continue to be asking questions when we read. This is an important strategy for making sure that we are THINKING about what we read.

Alien-In-Line Skating
Today was our last day of Alien-In-Line Skating. It was a wonderful experience and the level of growth from our first class to today was enormous! We played pinball on skates and got to disco skate for the finale!

Today we continued building our Boat. We made a RUBRIC in order to decide what criteria would be important in a successful boat. This is what the students came up with.

We finished building our boats. Tomorrow we will test them and use our rubric to self-assess our first prototype. Ask me how I think my boat is going to do?
