Tuesday October 22nd is our in class field trip from the City of Calgary. We will be learning all about insects in our local environment and participating in a walk to our wetlands. We require 2 volunteers for this field trip. Please email me if you are able to attend.
Artist in Residence
On October 28th we begin Artist in Residence. We are so excited to have 4 sessions with Sharon Fortowsky and work on a special and unique artistic project.
We could use 1 or 2 Parent Volunteers to assist and ensure things run smoothly.

Upcoming Alberta Theatre Project Field Trip

We are
excited to offer the Grade 2 children at Royal Oak School the opportunity to
experience the live theatre presentation of “The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe” put on by the Alberta Theatre Projects, located in the Martha Cohen Theatre
(Arts Common 215 - 8th Ave SE.
If you
know in advance that your children will not be attending this program, please
let us know by October 31st.
Teachers
will be coordinating volunteers for this field trip. If you have an
approved security clearance please email your child’s teacher to let them know
you would like to volunteer all day on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Special Visitor/Guest Speaker
Today we had another guest speaker to our school. Her name is Mrs. B and she is Ms. Reynolds Grandma. She came to talk to us about livng in Alberta in the past. She is 82 years old and has lots of memories of growing up in rural Alberta.

Math Base Ten
This week in Math we have been exploring breaking two-digit and some three-digit numbers up into their hundreds, tens, and ones. We used place value mats, base ten materials and t-charts to build and record our work.
