Social Studies Inquiry

This week we have been looking at Calgary in the Past. We looked at pictures of the prairies over 100 years ago:

We have been looking at the First People of Canada and specifically the Blackfoot People who first inhabitad this land.

We have been using videos and exploring the Glenbow Museum Website in order to learn about First Nations way of life here on this land before Calgary existed.

We started making mind maps to draw, sketch, and write new things we are learning:
Mind maps can help us to remember and talk about what we are learning:

Ask me what I included in my mind map.

Writing

We have continued to come up with juicy, powerful descriptive words about fall. Using our 5 senses has helped us to brainstorm many more words. We are practicing using the double scoop model in order to scoop up our writing and make it more powerful

Next week we will put all of our sentences together in order to create a small descriptive paragraph about fall.
