I have typed up everyone's that have come in and we are only missing 4.

Book Talks:

Reminder: Thank you to those of you who have already shared your child's Google Slides presentation with me. These book talks can be shared by clicking on the blue share button at the top of you child's presentation and then typing in my edu email address: imlagrana@educbe.ca.

Alternatively you can Get Shareable Link and Copy that to Paste into an email to my CBE account: imlagrana@cbe.ab.ca

The students have practiced sharing Google Slides with me at school so my edu email address should pop up as soon as they start typing it.

Yesterday we shared 2 presentations and today we shared 4. We will continue sharing into next week until everyone has had a turn to present their Book Talk.

Literacy

This week we have been reading a non-fiction article about the Return of the Bison to Banff National Park. We read the article and made thinknotes about it:

We also watched a video:

Tomorrow we will be using our Think Notes and deciding what the main idea is and what clues we noticed that support the main idea.

Math

Yesterday we reviewed using an open number line to add and subtract. We looked for patterns in Carlos's Family Chart and talked about how if we can get to a landmark number adding and subtracting can be done easier and using more mental math.

Today we were challenged to figure out How old was everyone when Maria was born?

Maria is 10 so to figure out how old everyone else was when she was born we would have to either add up from 10 to the next age and figure out with an addition equation the amount between these two ages:

Or we could subtract by 10.

We practiced both ways in groups using large chart paper.

Tomorrow we will share our findings and practice some number line review...

We also practiced using the interactive hundreds chart to help us subtract by 10. Practice at home.

Inquiry

Today we worked on comparing the Canadian Pacific Railway from the Past to the Present and looking at ways they are still the same. We used a VENN diagram to do this:

We will continue to compare the trains of the past to the trains of the present and think about all that we have learned about CPR and its contributions and impact on the past and the present.
