This week we will continue practicing building our fluency when we read. Thank you to so many of you who successfully uploaded your New Anchor Videos to IRIS. It is such an easy way for us to watch as a class and practice giving each other feedback, suggestions and compliments on our reading.
Today we practiced adding in Expression by changing our Voice when we read:

We have also been practicing circling any of the words that we are having trouble sounding out or any that we do not understand (even if we sounded them out perfectly!).
If we have tried all of these strategies and are still not able to figure it out we can use a dictionary. If we do understand the word but it is really hard to pronounce we can also use word hippo to find a SYNONYM that makes sense for the sentence and sounds good!

If you have not created your video yet or uploaded it to IRIS please do so by Thursday evening this week. We will be sharing them with each other all week.
Please print out a new article to bring to school on Friday so that we can continue to practice our Fluency through reading current events!
