Evergreen Theatre, Building a Prototype, Math Challenge!

Reminder: Book orders are due online or by cheque by Monday March 11th.

Evergreen Theatre

Today we had a performance by Evergreen Theatre in the gym. It was based on the story "The 3 Little Pigs" but it was all about Climate Change and what we can do about it!

We will be talking about Climate Change and Extreme Weather patterns, specifically as it relates to the Arctic, the Arctic Animals and the People of the Arctic.

Designing a Prototype

Today we built our first prototype. Our challenge was to design an insulating device that could keep heat energy out and trap heat energy in so that our ice cube will stay cold and frozen or longer.

Tomorrow we will test our designs and then have a chance on Thursday to re-build, re-design or add to our original designs.

Ask me about the building process. What was the most challenging part of building? Why do I think my design in going to work?

Math Challenge

Today in math we were challenged to figure out the total inventory of an order using a T-chart, base ten blocks, and drawing to organize all of our information and then calculate a total using Rolls and Loose to help.
