GoogleSlides, Caroling, Spirit Week and Math

Literacy

Today we continued creating a GoogleSlides presentation about the novel The Search for Delicious. We practiced logging into GoogleSlides.

We used our CBE email and our password to log in.

We then used the + sign to add our first slide. We titled it, used text boxes to add the title and author and practiced changing the font size and colour.

Today we used PhotoBooth to take a picture of our Creative Title Page that we had drawn. We then dragged it to our desktops and uploaded it to our presentation.

We got to practice turning our picture right side up, cropping it to fit and bringing our words to the front.

Tomorrow we will complete slide 2 where we will be deciding if we enjoyed the book or not? Would we recommend it to someone else? Why or why not? We will practice using a text box, editing for spelling, and changing font, making our print bold and highlighting our text.

Caroling

Today was our first day of Caroling in the Gym. Ask me what my favorite song we sang was? We will also be Caroling on Wednesday morning at 11:30.

Spirit Week: Today we wore our PJs, brought our favorite book and Caroled in the gym.

Tomorrow is wear a HAT to school day!

Math

Today we continued trying to figure out the difference between two numbers. We used a number line to continue answering the question How old was _____ when Carlos was born?

Ask me how I solved the problem, using a number line.

We will be working on this all week using Hops, Skips and Jumps to move on the number line between to numbers to solve how much in between or the difference between two numbers.

Practicing skip counting by 10's from different starting points up to 100 helps us to move on the number line.

Tomorrow we will begin building our own number lines to help us notice how many numbers is between 0-10, 10-20, 20-30 all the way past 100.

We will also practice skip counting by 10's on our number line and seeing if we notice any patterns.
