Please refer to this weeks past blogs to see slide order and research that we covered in class. Next week our class will get to go to Mr. Sandberg's room and learn all about creating a comic! Math

Subtraction Fun!

This week we continued working on subtraction equations. We began to look at Subtraction with Borrowing! Ask me to show you at home.

If we take a simple double digit equation such as 84-38=

First...

Make a T-Chart and label it:

Write out your equation...

84-38=

Draw it and write your bigger number inside of your t-chart...

***Always always always subtract the ones FIRST!

After I borrow a ten, now I should have enough to take away 8...

Now it is time to subtract the tens. Don't forget this step!...

Give me a double digit practice questions and see if I can show you how I draw it out and solve it using my t-chart and borrowing!
