Tuesday

The 6:00 pm SoundKreations performance is sold out.  Tickets are still available for the 2:00 pm and 6:50 performances.

Mrs. Lagrana's class and Mrs. McDonald's class is asking that students please wear dark leggings/pants and or jeans and then a bright plain or patterned top for the performance.

Today in gym we had a full practice of our whole routine for Sound Kreations. We can't wait to share our performance with you!

Today at music we did a test and Mrs. Mann had to tell us to write down the notes that she played.

Today we learned a new way to use the number line. We can start from 0 or we can start from the highest number.

We did read to self/read to someone today.

Today we did writing in our Pioneer Journals. This writing will be our second page of our pioneer journals. Ask me what I wrote about?

Calgary Reads-Read Up! Program Volunteer Tutors Needed
If you are looking to make a difference in the life of a child in your community, consider donating your time or resources to the Calgary Reads Read Up! Program at Royal Oak School.
The Calgary Reads Read Up! Tutoring Program pairs struggling readers in Grades 1 and 2 with trained adult tutors; the one-on-one tutoring occurs in a structured, nurturing and supportive learning environment within the child’s school. Tutors spend time tutoring young readers, while providing a strong adult role model in each child’s life.
By spending 40 minutes twice a week for approximately 40 sessions with a struggling Grade 1 or 2 student you can help a child become a confident, successful independent reader. Tutors receive 3.5 hours of training to follow the Calgary Reads lesson framework that includes a variety of effective reading strategies.
If you enjoy reading and have two hours each week to share with a child, we invite you to help us support our Calgary Reads Read Up! Program in our school It’s fun, meaningful and rewarding to help a child read with confidence and joy!
